WordPress provides you with a number of settings and options to configure your website. But, you do not have to worry about most of these settings except for one setting that specifies the URL structure of your website.
It is important that the articles that you write on your website are given a meaning URL. For example, http://StrathavenRealEstate.com/how-to-stage-your-home/ is more readable and user friendly than the default WordPress URL http://StrathavenRealEstate.com/?p=123.
To change the URL structure of your website follow the instructions below.
- Login to WordPress Dashboard
- Choose Settings
- Choose Permalinks
- Click on the option Custom Structure and enter the value /%postname%/ in the text field
Now your website will have a URL structure that is more search engine friendly and easily readable by your readers as well.
