First of all I would like to wish my readers a very happy, prosperous and peaceful new year. I am happy to let you know that I have decided to revive my blog under the new domain name “TechThinker.com”.
This blog was started in early 2008 as “webspear.com” with the objective of providing tips and techniques to develop a successful web presence. The blog started off really well but all of a sudden I decided that I wanted to cover more topics and moved away from a niche blog to a non-niche blog.
My second blog was called “nextcovery.com”. In this blog I decided to write on anything that interested me! But as timed passed I realized I have made a big mistake by moving away from a niche blog to a non-niche blog. I am not saying that non-niche blogs are not successful. There are many people who have very popular non-niche blogs. Personally I found my self lost with a non-niche blog. I did not have a sense of direction. I didn’t know what my readers wanted. I didn’t even know who were my readers! As a result I lost interest with this blog.
As new year’s resolution I’ve decided to revive my old blog under a brand new domain name “TechThinker.com”. The reason I went with new domain name is to get rid of any emotional attachment that I had with my old blog. But, I am retaining almost all the articles that I wrote in my previous blogs. As per Mr Problogger’s advice I want to build upon what I already have and know, rather that trying to re-do every thing from scratch.
Did you revive your blog in the recent past? How did you do it? Did you keep the same name? or Did you start from scratch? Please share your comments.
